More specifically, it focuses on theMacquarie Group Ltd. From its modest beginnings is Australia some forty years ago Macquarie has achieved preeminence as the world's leading non-governmental operator of infrastructure assets. The infrastructure fund model pioneered by Macquarie leases (or buys) staid assets ranging from toll roads to airports, piles on debt, and reaps handsome fees.
