摘要、提要註:
Alliances for Sustainable Development is a lively and hands-on exploration of corporate-NGO alliances. Adopting an organizational strategy point of view, it offers original insight to understand what brought business and NGOs to work together, what concretely motivates them, and what kind of partners and partnerships are involved. In a second part, it looks into three crucial aspects of alliances management : alliance capacity development, stakeholder involvement and alliance metrics, offering practical analysis and tools for those who have an interest in alliance management. This second part starts with a comprehensive analysisof corporate-NGO asymmetries, which are often considered as an obstacle for alliance development and success. The book introduces the notion of complementaryand contradictory asymmetries, arguing that asymmetries should be 'demystified'. Integrating existing literature and three inspiring case studies from different countries (Mexico, France and the UK),it is a very welcomed addition to the literature on corporate-NGO partnerships.
