摘要、提要註:
World Society and the Middle East offers an innovative theoretical framework for the study ofMiddle East politics. By using rich empiricaldata on current developments in Middle East politics and society (witha special focus on Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria) the book focuses onpertinent issues in contemporary Middle East studies such as the role of space and power, the pervasiveness of patterns of inclusion/exclusion as well as the status of identities and conflicts. It applies world society theory in modern systems theory to the study of this conflict-ridden region and argues that any comprehensive study on Middle East politics must be firmly embedded within the framework of a complex theory of globalization and a deconstructivist understanding of society.
