A collection of essays in which the possibilities of a deeper dialogue, by means of the contemplative traditions of the Abrahamic Faiths is explored. The book expounds an ageless, profound means of overcoming religious hatred and violence and awakening the beauty of unity in diversity. The resurgence of mysticism in the religions in the last few decades undoubtedly stems from a widespread need for a deeper, more contemplative spirituality. Jewish, Christian and Islamic Mystical Perspectives on the Love of God, explores what Jews, Christians, and Muslims can learn from their own faith, from the experience of a dialogue that seeks, at its best, to face them with something new, strange, and unexpected. The book bears witness, by means of the great spiritual thinkers of the three traditions, to what becomes possible when friendship and integrity are allowed to flourish.

The wide variety of engagements with mystical love in texts from all three 'Abrahamic' traditions presented here weave a rich tapestry of study and dialogue, offering many fruitful moments of insight into shared foundations. - Oliver Davies, Professor, Christian Doctrine, King's College London, UK.
