All of these conventional treatments can be frightening, painful, debilitating, disfiguring, and possibly minimally effective for pets. But alternatives exist that may enhance a purely medical approach. Cancer and Your Pet shows how dietary strategies, botanical supplements, Traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathic remedies, acupuncture, vitamins and minerals, enzymes and anti-inflammatory agents can be used in pre-treatment, during conventional treatment, and post-treatment and prevention. The number of human cancer patients and survivors incorporating alternative medicine and complementary medicine into their treatment programs is increasing. What has worked for them can also work for their pets. Here, Marie Cargill offers a comprehensive and user-friendly guide to the latest information on the most widely used alternative and complementary methods of approaching cancer in our pets.
