摘要、提要註:
In contrast to the multiple works and years of attention given to leadership theory, followership has only begun to be recognized over the last three decades. As recently as the twentieth century the term follower has been associated with a definition that implies non-leader and for decades emphasis has been placed on the leader role in research.

Followership, also known as trust in leadership, is becoming a research discipline of its own as a result of researchers like Kelly and Chaleff. The purpose of this study was to identify what if any relationship exists between gender, age, years of experience, level of education, and levels of trust in organizational leadership.

While some research has examined the underlying processes by which trust grows or is broken, the issue still bears additional study. There is a clear need to further investigate the interactive aspects that contribute to the positive processes building and maintaining trust in organizations.
