摘要、提要註:
International intervention in post-conflict economies can exacerbatethe challenges of transformation. The contributors to Critical Perspectives on the Political Economy of Peacebuilding are experts on key issues that tend to be neglected in the approaches to peacebuilding. This collection reaches beyond the technical approaches of international financial institutions and agencies of the liberal peace. It examines peaceend-games, gender, trade, diasporas, borderlands, employment and globalgovernance. Each issue is addressed at three levels: (1) a global analysis; (2) a generic theme; (3) a case study showing how specific factors influence local political economies. The authors ask whether a political economy of peace is being promoted by current approaches to peacebuilding and consider the specific policy changes or shifts in the architecture of global governance that are necessary to foster inclusive political economies based on local needs.
